| More details: | We offer an overnight Respite Program, one week-end a month. Luther Manor Adult Day Services is an innovative adult day program that provides health rehabilitation and social supports for older adults that is in keeping with Luther Manors mission to show God's love for older adults by providing a comprehensive and compassionate program of excellent housing care and services contributing to the wholeness of body mind and spirit This is being provided within an environment that promotes social confidence personal worth hope and the sense that each person can contribute and make a difference Luther Manor has developed a nationally recognized ArtCare program that consists of two strong components, A Visiting Artist Training and Residency program and Outreach and Education program for artist students and health care professionals. This Art Care program has provided opportunities for the participants of the day center to connect with their creative self through storytelling sculpting painting and dance. Art Care has uncovered hopes fears and talents of those with Alzheimer's disease provided significant satisfaction to participants offered families hope and comfort provided a rich environment for research development and testing of creative approaches for dementia care and offered an opportunity for meaningful participation by volunteers and students. Luther Manor also has a unique overnight weekend respite program that provides care on a monthly scheduled basis for 6 persons from Friday at 5 pm until Sunday at 7 pm. This service has provided a much needed support for the unique stresses of caregiver burden. Luther Manor Adult Day Services also has unique partnerships with the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Center for Age and Community that links students faculty other service providers around issues for research and program development in the field of aging Luther Manor also supports their partnership with the Milwaukee County Department on Aging and the Family Care program with its unique Care Management Unit that provides interdisciplinary case management to Milwaukee's elderly. |
